Rule of thirds

Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is a photography technique which is used to help divert the attention of the viewer of an image to a specific viewpoint. The rule of thirds can be applied into videography and film when creating the establishing shots or introducing/ showing emotion on a character's face.

The rule of thirds is created by a grid method, which indicates that the focal point of a photo is placed in the centre third of the grid.
